I feel like people underestimate me. Just because I’m not the most opinionated or articulate. I have opinions, i just never get a chance to voice them because I’m always fucking interupted or over shadowed. No one cares. I’m sick of it. This has always been the way. Time after time I’ve gotten upset because I’ve always been there for whoever’s needed me, I’m always listening to peoples problems but I never had anyone to listen to me when I needed it. Its gotten me down like you wouldn’t believe. But now its not that I need a sympathetic ear, I just want to be listened to!! I want someone to want to hear my opinion! Just once, thats all I want, just once I want someone to listen to what I have to say!

Right! I’m angry! I just read an article concerning “Pop Pornography” which focuses mainly on Lady Gaga. This article was published in the Irish edition of British middle market tabloid, The Daily Mail, which through the years has been seen as over-conservative, anti-Irish, sexist, racist, homophobic and just down right insensitive and cruel. I’ve heard stories about the mail being bigoted and right-wing but I had never myself experienced any such articles, but now from just some quick research I’ve come across an article about The Mail’s film reviewer calling for 1996 film, Crash to be banned in case it provoked fetishes in its viewers and also condemning recent release Kick Ass for “sexualising children”! Both cases are political correctness and conservative attitudes gone cracked! Read the article here. In my search I also found an article concerning the recent death of Irish popstar Stephen Gately from the band Boyzone. Gately who died suddenly during the year, engaged in a civil-partnership in 2006, so instead of a respectful, sensitive article about the much loved singer, the reporter decides to tell us that homosexual relationships are not the same as heterosexual ones! A simple google search will bring up countless pages detailing this papers lows.
But back to my point, they are blaming Lady Gaga for “poisoning our childrens’ minds”. Yes I will admit she is outrageous and a lot of her music is very sexual, but this reporter claims that “her lyrics don’t go any deeper than lets have some fun, this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick”, which shows she clearly hasn’t done any proper research. She completely ignores Gaga’s songs which aren’t as influenced by sex such as, Brown eyes, Speechless, So Happy I Could Die, to name but a few. She says that Gaga is sending out a disgusting message, causing young girls to grow up to fast, and that any woman that claims to be empowered by Gaga’s blatant sexuality is lying!! Once again, ignored is the fact that unlike many mainstream stars today, not once do Gaga’s lyrics promote trying to keep guys happy or looking hot to get attention or that life isn’t worth living if you’re single. There is no mention of the fact that Gaga is a dedicated gay rights activist, but from what I’ve learned of this paper they’re probably warned to avoid the “G” word!
If the reporter had even given the full album a listen she would’ve come across “Dance in the Dark” which encourages girls to have good self image, and not let themselves be put down by men!! Never once is it entertained that maybe it is not Lady Gaga’s responsibility to release material and perform shows suitable for young children but that of the parents of these kids to stop them from listening to it!! I adore Lady Gaga, but I don’t go around wearing latex and pyrotechnics and sky scraper shoes, and I’ve never seen anyone else doing it either! Lady Gaga is not forcing her material down your throats, she is not coming out in the media and saying PLAY ME TO YOUR KIDS!! No, her music and live shows are not suitable for young children, but believe it or not there is a simple solution to that, stop letting them have her CDs and for God’s sake stop bringing them to her shows!!! How anyone could bring a child to a Lady Gaga concert and expect it to be suitable is beyond me!
Anyway that’s all I’m going to say, I’m all ranted out! :)
